Like so many people I had a pivotal point that made me realize that I had to get fit. A friend’s child asked me if I had a baby in my belly. Well, that gave me the determination that I needed to spring into action. I believe that everyone is an individual with specific needs and preferences and you have to choose what works for you. I personally am not one to go to the gym. Time is an issue for me and in the time that I could drive to the gym and home I could have completed my workout. I knew that I needed to find something that I could do at home, but what?
I went to YouTube and typed workout into the search bar. Through this search I discovered Tiffany Rothe Workouts. My first workout was a lot of fun...I was hooked. That was August 2012 and I am still going strong.
You have one body. Love it...care for it. You will love the feeling of empowerment, satisfaction and fulfillment you can achieve. When you make your health a priority everything else falls into place. You deserve to be the best YOU that you can be.
What I didn't realize until I committed to taking that first step was that my journey would become about so much more than getting rid of that "baby belly". It quickly became about overall health and becoming fit. I discovered that eating healthy is really common sense: eat whole foods. Why had I never thought of that before? I had fallen into the trap in the past of low calorie "healthy" snacks and frozen meals. I laugh looking back now that I thought pizza and cookies were healthy because they were low calorie. Sugar is still sugar and processed food isn't a healthy option. I do treat myself once a week to a free day and eat whatever I want, but the majority of the time it is whole foods for me.
I have discovered so many benefits along my journey, besides weight loss. My cholesterol that was once high is great now, my blood pressure is phenomenal and I am told that I do not look my age. Besides all of that, I feel great!
I love feeling strong as well. I didn't expect that, but I take great pride in my strength. It is very empowering to be able to move and lift things with ease that people just assume a lady will need help with. I love that feeling!
The most unexpected and rewarding benefit is the change in my family. My husband and teenage boys are healthier too. When I started eating for my health I didn't make different meals for the rest of my family. They all eat what I eat, and guess what? They love it! They have all told me how thankful they are that I started this journey and that they learned to "eat healthy foods that still taste good".
